Basic Info BioI was very fortunate to win a scholarship offered by the Okinawa Association and the government of Okinawa. This scholarship will allow me to attend university at the Ryukyu Daigaku in Okinawa, japan.
I grew up in Okinawa and my mother's family is all still located on the island so this will be a very interesting year both in terms of rediscovering my heritage and culture and of studying in a completely new setting. Needless to say, I am quite excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to see what it brings to me in both the coming year and the future past that.
This online journal is a way for me to chronicle my year there and to share it with my family and friends.
